Religious Significance of White Shankha

As per Indian mythology, White Shankhs are sacred & very auspicious. Basically a Shankh is blown to start a religious ceremony. It is a significant Hindu article of prayer. The God of Preservation i.e. God Vishnu is shown with a Shankha in one hand and a chakra or disc on the other hand. The White Vishnus Shankha is called Panchajanya. It is believed that when White Shankh is blown, it announces the victory of good over evil & negativity.

In Mahabharata (the epic war), the conch shell held a significant place. Arjunas Shankha was called Devdutta, Bhimas Paundra, Yudhisthiras Anantavijaya, Nakulas Sughosa & Sahadevas Shankh was known as Manipushpaka. The sacred conch shell is a fundamental part of Hindu symbolic and religious tradition. Indeed, even today, all Hindus utilize the conch as a part of their religious practices. Whenever the White Shankh / White Conch shell is blown, it is said to cleanse the earth from all the evil effects.
 

Scientific Significance of White Shankh

Apart from the mythology part, Shankh/ Conch Shells significance can also be authenticated by science. If you try holding a Shankha close to your ear you can hear the sound of the gently humming ocean. This humming sound is actually the natural vibration or cosmic energy of the Earth which gets amplified on entering the conch shell.

The vibrations from these Shanks or Conch Shells can overpower evil forces from the Earth and simultaneously also clear environmental pollution including healing the gap in the ozone layer which causes global warming. As indicated by science, the blowing of a White Shankh or Shankha enhance the positive psychological vibrations i.e. determination, optimism, willpower, courage, hope etc in the blower as well as people around him.
