Mohini is introduced in the Hindu legends of the ancient epic of Mahabharata. Lord Vishnu had taken a Female Avatar Mohini (भगवान विष्णु का मोहिनी अवतार ). She is an important part of the ‘Samudra Manthan’(समुद्र मंथन). Mohini is represented as a beautiful nymph, carrying a pot of the Amrit during Sagar Manthan to distribute Amrit between Devas and Asuras. She takes the pot of Amrita from Asuras(demons) and returns it to the devas (gods) helping them retain their immortality. She is the only female avatar of Lord Vishnu. Mohini is known as enchantress because she is supernaturally beautiful and feminine by nature.
The word “Mohini” comes from the word “Moha”(in Hindi), which means attraction or fascination. Mohini Ghada Shaligram Shila is the Shaligram which symbolizes Lord Vishnu. This Shaligram gives a disease-free, long and healthy life to the devotee. It gives wealth, peace of mind and protection.
